The famous Californian music festival Coachella was postponed until October due to
coronavirus, its organizers announced on Tuesday, saying they follow the precautionary instructions of the local health authorities.
“Although this decision was taken in a global context full of uncertainties, we take very seriously the safety and health of our customers, our teams and our community”, justified the company Goldenvoice which manages the festival . The event, which was scheduled for April, will take place the weekends of October 9 and 16 in the city of Indio, California.

Over 900 cases identified in the United States
The postponement comes after other major cultural events were canceled due to the Covid-19 epidemic, including the South by Southwest film and technology festival, slated for mid-March in Austin, Texas.
At least 28 people have died from Covid-19 and some 910 have been infected in the United States, according to a report by the AFP.
