California suffers from robberies
A spokeswoman for the railroad company Union Pacific, Lupe Valdez, told the TV station “CBS”: “In the Los Angeles area, the number of robberies has increased dramatically in recent months. Around 90 containers are now broken open every day.”
Organized robberies have also been on the rise in California recently. In November, for example, 20 masked men looted the luxury department store Nordstrom in Los Angeles. Shortly thereafter, another store of the chain in Canoga Park was robbed.
Weeks later, a robbery at a hardware store in Lakewood was confirmed. The north of the state also records more thefts. Nearly 80 veiled men blocked a road to a Walnut Creek department store in November. Within minutes, they packed $200,000 worth of clothing, shoes and jewelry.
Many locals blame the crime rate on Proposition 47. Because in order to decongest prisons, the foreboding was made not to prosecute fraud and theft under $950.
