California Electricity Bill Could Rise With Summer Prices | Univision 19 Sacramento KUVS

Sacramento- Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) and Sacramento Municipal Utility Districy will change their summer “time of use” rates on June 1. This means that customers could see more expensive energy bills if they use electricity during peak hours.

Adjusting the airtime rates means costs will be higher for four months, June through September.

Partial peak hours are also introduced for businesses and some residential customers, where two hours before and after peak hours electricity is priced at “average cost of energy”

12 am to 5 pm and after 8 pm / Monday to Friday

Off peak
$ 0.1277 kWh
12 am to 12 pm / Monday to Friday

Half peak
$ 0.1765 kWh
12 pm to 5 pm / Monday to Friday
8 pm to 12 am / Monday to Friday

Pico
$ 0.3105 kWh
5 pm to 8 pm / Monday to Friday
