California and New York, with more Mexicans killed by covid

At the end of 2020, the number of Mexicans who died from covid-19 in the United States it was of 3,322, according to data reported by the consulates. The states where the most nationals died were California and New York, with more than 800 deaths in each.

The document issued by the Secretary of Foreign Relations notes that Consular staff stay in contact with affected families to provide support on the resources at their disposal, regardless of the immigration status that the deceased had.

As of December 28, 2020, the five states with the highest number of Mexicans who died from covid-19, son:

It is worth mentioning that there is a margin of error in the data, since they represent only the cases in which the death of a national was reported to one of the Mexican consulates in the United States.
