Cali International Film Festival opens calls for its 2021 version

The District Culture Secretariat and the ‘XIII International Film Festival of Cali-FICCali 2021’, summon scriptwriters from the city and Valle del Cauca, filmmakers, producers and distributors, researchers, critics, students and teachers, to participate in the National Short Film Competition of the ‘VII Script Laboratory’ and the programming of the ‘X Film Research Seminar’.

National Short Film …

Participation in this process consists of two stages. A first, in which the applicant, complying with the requirements, may register his work in order to be evaluated by a committee, in charge of estimating that it meets the criteria to participate in the competitive section.

In the second stage, after viewing and evaluating the short film, the work will be selected to form the competitive section of national short film, in which the prizes are awarded. ‘Maria’, for the best short film, and a special jury award.

VII Script Laboratory …

This training activity opens a space for the strengthening of eight fiction and / or documentary feature film projects, in the script writing stage, generating a meeting point that enables work networks between scriptwriters in the city.

Upon being selected in the call, participants will have access to laboratory activities, which include group and individual meetings with invited tutors. Each project will have four hours of individual consultancies, divided into two two-hour sessions.

X Film Research Seminar …

For the 2021 version, the focus will be on the transformation of audiovisual reality and its relationship with new technologies.

The selected papers will be presented, virtually, within the framework of FICCali 2021, from November 17 to 21.
