On Saturday afternoon “Florentina” decided to run away. After unsuccessfully searching for the calf himself, the farmer from the Freistadt district asked his nephew, a firefighter, to help him with the search. It was finally decided together to involve the local fire departments.
Three fire departments looking for “Florentina”
The St. Leonhard volunteer fire department near Freistadt began the search for “Florentina” with the FF Langfirling – in turn supported by the FF Tragwein with a drone and by a hunter’s drone, says Michael Diesenreiter, commander of the FF St. Leonhard.
Using a drone thermal imaging camera, “Florentina” was finally found and brought back quickly when it had already become dark, according to the main fire inspector.
