Calculation error was to blame for the pavilion collapse – TOP ONLINE

In November 2020, the roof of a pavilion collapsed in Lokstadt in Winterthur. The structure of the wooden roof broke and collapsed between the steel posts. Nobody was injured in the accident.

The client Implenia is now citing a calculation error as the reason for the accident. Implenia’s media spokeswoman told the “Landbote” that the weight was incorrectly distributed due to the incorrect calculation of the statics. An analysis of the collapse was able to find the fault. Implenia takes responsibility for this.

The Lokstadt has been building again since last Friday. The new pavilion is supposed to be more massive, a little higher and stronger. The overall construction has been improved. The dialogue space should then be opened in spring.
