Calatayud ‘subscribes’ to music for the weekends of July

The arrival of the month of July brings with it the realization of the already traditional cycle of performances of the ‘Summer Nights’. On this occasion there will be four sessions starring local groups, with free access, from the stage of the Plaza de España, all at 10:00 p.m. As a preview, and apart from this program, this Saturday, at 9:30 p.m. and from the Coso de Margarita, the show ‘Anthological Zarzuela’ will take place, with Nacho del Río, Montserrat Martí Caballé, Beatriz Gimeno, Beatriz Bernad and Miguel Ángel Berna, among others.

In this case there will be more than 100 artists, among which are also the baritone Luis Santana, the Amici Musicae Choir of the Zaragoza Auditorium -for choral contributions- and for musical accompaniment Toño Bernal with bass, Josué Barrés with percussion, Alberto Artigas with bandurria, J. José Almarza with the lute and Miguel Ángel Tapia on piano and conducting. The price of the tickets, to be obtained at Ibercaja ATMs and the Youth House, is 16 euros in a row and 20 in the ring.

Already within the summer cycle, the bilbilitan duo ‘Lost Midnight’ will be in charge of opening the way on Friday, July 8. They will be followed by the members of the Sevillian group ‘Revuelo Bilbilitano’, on Saturday, July 9; the Gospel choir, on Saturday July 16 and the group of jacks ‘Virgen de la Peña, on Saturday 23. “We wanted to bet on local talent, since they are successful groups and are well received by the public,” explained the Councilor for Culture, Nuria Amela.

A limited number of seats will be available in the square, but Amela has recalled that the performances will no longer be limited due to the restrictions that were in force during the pandemic, with prior reservation of tickets and limited capacity.

On the other hand, the exhibition hall of the Calatayud museum hosts until August 21 the exhibition ‘Arte +6’, with works by Joo Eun Bae, Mark Gordon, J Carlos Blas, Antonio Doñate, Javier Barreno and Willem Heijkoop. The opening is from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00 from Tuesday to Saturday and from 10:00 to 13:00 on Sundays and holidays.
