Calabria offers up to 28,000 euros to people under the age of 40 to start a business in the region – Finance

The Italian region of Calabria offers up to 28,000 euros for three years to anyone who decides to move to one of several cities with a population of less than 2,000.

Some of the places are along the coast, and some in the interior of the region – Ayeta, San Donato di Ninea, Civita, Albidona, Kachuri, Santa Severina, Sant’Agata del Bianco, Zamo and Bova.

However, the regional authorities do not offer the money just like that. New residents need to get involved and start a business – either start something of their own or invest in an existing one. In addition, they will have to move completely there and register in one of the cities, BNT reports.

From the establishments furious: Nothing will ever be closed again because of a virus for which there is a free vaccine!

Another important requirement is that the age of the candidates does not exceed 40 years. They must also be ready to move to Calabria 90 days after acceptance of the application.

Local authorities hope the offer will attract young enterprising people to revive disappearing cities. All the details are yet to be clarified, the exact amount of money to be paid monthly, and whether to include larger villages with up to 3,000 people in the offer, explains Gianluca Gallo, a member of the Calabria regional council. He expects young people to come to open catering establishments, hostels or restaurants, craft shops or set up their own farms, thus attracting more tourists to one of the poorest regions in Italy.
