Cal Kestis to appear in unknown Star Wars live-action series – Film & Series News

News from the galaxy far, far away: For many fans, the “Jedi” games are all about the main character Cal Lasted One of the best that “Star Wars” has produced in recent years. The website SFFGazette now claims to have learned from a confidential insider that Kestis, portrayed by Cameron Monaghan will appear in one of the upcoming “Star Wars” live-action series on Disney+.

The games are set between the films “Revenge of the Sith” and “A New Hope”. So the question arises as to the context in which Kestis will be introduced into the “Star Wars” universe. A possible integration into the second season of “Ahsoka” seems unlikely, as the series takes place after “Return of the Jedi”. An appearance in “Skeleton Crew” is hardly realistic, especially since the story and tone of this series don’t fit Kestis’ character. The However, the character’s popularity strongly suggests that he could even become the focus of his own series.

Furthermore, the insider reports that the “The Mandalorian & Grogu” film is intended to conclude the saga of the Mandalorian. Accordingly there would then be no more Mando seasons on Disney+. Of course, this information has not yet been officially confirmed. So it remains exciting to see how the “Star Wars” franchise will develop further.

An overview of all the live-action “Star Wars” series on Disney+

Since Disney+ launched in 2019, the platform has released a number of “Star Wars” series, further expanding the epic universe on the small screen. Here is an overview of the most important “Star Wars” series that can be found on Disney+.

1. The Mandalorian (2019–present)

“The Mandalorian” was the first “Star Wars” series to launch on Disney+ and has quickly become one of the platform’s flagship series. The series is set several years after the events of “Return of the Jedi” and follows Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal. He is drawn to the mysterious force when he meets the young Grogu (aka Baby Yoda), who quickly became a fan favorite.

“The Mandalorian” not only introduced new characters and stories, but also unleashed the potential of the “Star Wars” universe on Disney+. The series combines classic Star Wars elements with a Western-like tone and has opened the franchise to a new generation of viewers.

2. The Book of Boba Fett (2021)

Following the success of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett was announced as a spin-off and follows the iconic bounty hunter Boba Fett, played by Temuera Morrison. The series continues Boba Fett’s story that began in The Mandalorian and finds him establishing himself as the new Daimyo on Tatooine.

Although “The Book of Boba Fett” received mixed reviews, it gave fans a deeper look into the life of the infamous bounty hunter and illuminated the criminal structures of the “Star Wars” universe. Particular highlights were the connections to “The Mandalorian” and the appearance of characters like Fennec Shand, played by Ming-Na Wen.

3. Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)

One of the most anticipated series on Disney+ was Obi-Wan Kenobi, which marked the return of Ewan McGregor in his iconic role as the Jedi Master. The series is set ten years after the events of “Revenge of the Sith” and follows Obi-Wan’s life in exile on Tatooine, where he looks after the young Luke Skywalker.

The series also brought back Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader and featured intense emotional moments between the two former friends and Jedi Knights.

4. Andor (2022–present)

“Andor” is a prequel series to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and tells the backstory of the rebel Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna. The series explores the early days of the uprising against the Empire and shows how Cassian evolves from a cynical loner into a hero of the rebellion.

“Andor” has been praised as a mature and complex series that offers a gritty look at the Empire’s brutal oppression. The series stands out from other “Star Wars” projects with its serious tone and political depth and expands the mythology of the “Star Wars” universe to include new facets.

5. Ahsoka (2023–present)

“Ahsoka” is another spin-off of “The Mandalorian” and focuses on former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano, played by Rosario Dawson. The series builds on the events of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Rebels” and follows Ahsoka on her search for the missing Jedi Ezra Bridger and the mysterious Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Ahsoka, a student of Anakin Skywalker, has become one of the most popular characters in the “Star Wars” universe, and the series promised to provide gripping stories for both old and new fans.

6. The Acolyte (2024)

The Acolyte is set in the High Republic period, approximately 100 years before the events of the Skywalker saga. This period is considered the Golden Age of the Jedi, with the Republic powerful and the influence of the Sith seemingly extinct. But a dark force begins to rise in the shadows.

The series, created by Leslye Headland, centers on a former padawan and her Jedi master as they solve mysterious crimes. The focus is on the growing imbalance of power and the emerging threat from the Dark Side. However, the series did not go down well with fans.

7. Skeleton Crew (2024)

“Skeleton Crew” is a planned “Star Wars” series directed by Jon Watts (known for the “Spider-Man” films). The series will tell the story of a group of children who get lost in the galaxy and have adventures. Jude Law, for example, is part of the cast.
