Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin reveals the name of the candidate for vice president (cawapres) Prabowo Subianto already narrowed down two people for the 2024 presidential election.
“Two,” said Cak Imin to him CNNIndonesia in the Widya Chandra area, South Jakarta, Thursday (25/5).
PKB and Gerindra have now formed the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR).
Cak Imin revealed that one of the names for Prabowo’s vice presidential candidate was himself. While one other name is still secret.
“Can [satunya saya], [satu lagi] secret,” said Cak Imin.

On that occasion, Muhaimin claimed that recently he had often traveled with Prabowo to several areas. In fact, he admits that he regularly holds meetings with Prabowo to discuss various matters, including the 2024 Presidential Election.
Therefore, for him the issue of Prabowo’s running mate is only limited to finding the right time to announce it.
“It’s fine, everyone on the track. Question timing,” she said.
Furthermore, Cak Imin revealed that Prabowo often reported himself when certain parties were trying to ‘apply’ as cawapres. He and Prabowo then discussed considering the cawapres figure.
“Pak Prabowo always conveys to me. ‘This is someone who is applying to be the cawapres, what do you think, Pak Muhaimin?’ Long discussion, suitable, not, suitable, the ending doesn’t match,” Claimed Cak Imin while laughing.
Apart from that, Cak Imin also denied that PKB opened up other political options if by July the PKB and Gerindra coalitions had not declared the names of the presidential and vice presidential candidates.
He only said that the Ijtima Ulama Nusantara forum had mandated PKB to declare presidential and vice presidential candidates until May 2023.
“Until the end of May, I will report the progress to the ulema. We will simulate it later deadline which they give. If deadline accepted flexibly or remain firm in May, later there will be a forum,” said Cak Imin.
