Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin admitted that there was a signal of invitation from Ganjar Pranowo to join the coalition of political parties supporting it in the 2024 presidential election.
The offer was made when Cak Imin and Ganjar met at a cafe in the South Jakarta area, Friday (18/8). However, Cak Imin claimed he could not answer Ganjar’s invitation.
“The signal is an invitation. But I can’t answer yet because I’m still with Pak Prabowo in the coalition with Gerindra,” said Cak Imin in the Taman Ismail Marzuki area, Central Jakarta, Saturday (19/8).
Cak Imin told that the lunch meeting was treated by Ganjar. After the meeting, he was given a gift of red and green lovebirds as a symbol of unity.
In addition, Cak Imin said that initially the meeting wanted to discuss the Gadjah Mada Alumni Family (Kagama). However, the conversation between the two developed towards a political discussion.
“But it is the development of political discussions that I think we will analyze together. But nothing special, ordinary,” he said.
In the meeting at that time, both of them looked compact wearing white shirts. Ganjar and Cak Imin drank tea together on the cafe terrace and had a chance to toast before sipping it together.
Ganjar also gave a pair of lovebirds in the cage. Both were seen smiling at each other while holding the birdcage.
Ahead of the 2024 presidential election, Ganjar and Cak Imin are on different paths. Cak Imin and PKB have formed a coalition with Gerindra, PAN and Golkar to support Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate.
While Ganjar has been supported by a coalition of PDIP, PPP, Perindo and Hanura. However, the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP, Puan Maharani, had said that Cak Imin was included in the stock exchange as a vice presidential candidate for Ganjar.
