The General Chair of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin, visited the grave of the former Chair of the PKB Syuro Council, KH. M. Abdul Aziz Manshur in Paculgowang, Jombang, East Java. After the pilgrimage, Cak Imin talking about the figure of Abdul Aziz.
Cak Imin said Abdul Aziz had never been involved in practical politics. However, said Cak Imin His spirit also became the ammunition for PKB to become what it is today.
“But as soon as PKB was born, he felt called to finally mobilize all his students, mobilize all his alumni to immediately raise PKB,” said Cak Imin at the KH Tomb Complex. M. Abdul Aziz Sunday (10/9/2023) evening.
Cak Imin said that through the pilgrimage to Abdul Aziz Manshur’s grave he wanted to give the message that every kiai has unique political leadership.
“At the same time remaining consistent with the task of developing Islamic boarding schools, which is one unit with political struggle,” he said.
After visiting the grave, Cak Imin continued his haul agenda to commemorate the death of KH. Abdul Aziz Manshur was the 8th at the Tarbiyatun Nasyi’in Islamic Boarding School. At that event, Cak Imin admitted that he was increasingly optimistic about running as vice presidential candidate because he saw the legacy of Abdul Aziz Manshur.
“Thank God, I saw his enthusiastic motivation and to this day I am confident to run for vice presidential candidate because of his legacy and orders which I will never forget,” said Cak Imin.
“Ojo, don’t fool yourself, be confident despite the challenges which are not easy, God willing, the people of Jombang will come out on top (don’t be unconfident, be confident even though the challenges are not easy, God willing, the people of Jombang will appear again),” concluded Cak Imin.
For information, KH. M. Abdul Aziz Manshur is listed as the caretaker of the Tarbiyatunnasyi’in Islamic Boarding School to replace his father KH. Manshur Anwar, who has been dead since 1984.
KH. M. Abdul Aziz Manshur used to be the chairman of the PKB syuro council since 2008 until his death in 2015.
