Caja Rural de Jaén and CTM Alcalá committed to women’s sports

The Caja Rural de Jaén Foundation and the Alcalá Table Tennis Club (CTM) have signed an agreement to promote table tennis from an inclusive perspective and with a focus on gender equality. The manager of the Caja Rural de Jaén Foundation, Luis Jesús García-Lomas, and the sports director of CTM Alcalá 2000, Francisco Javier Carrillo, formalized this agreement that seeks to balance female participation in this sport, both in sports schools and in federated competitions. .

The recent promotion of the CTM Alcalá women’s team to the Women’s Honor Division is a milestone for the club, as it offers an opportunity to make the potential of its players visible at a national level, encouraging more young people to join the youth team. As part of this project, exhibition activities will be organized with prominent players from all over the country, including adapted sports figures, who will also promote equality and inclusion in table tennis.

Furthermore, within the framework of its “Rural Free Time” program, the Caja Rural de Jaén Foundation promotes education in values through sports activities. This program is aimed at boys, girls and young people between 5 and 21 years old, and also at groups that require special attention to promote their inclusion. Given the increase in sedentary lifestyle among young people, the initiative highlights the importance of sports schools as spaces for physical, psychological and social development.
