CaixaBank starts charging new fees to its customers who withdraw money from ATMs of other banks. This is new in the company policy change through which The free transactions of customers who want to operate at ATMs of subjects other than CaixaBank will be limited. A decision that comes after the completion of the extension of a previous agreement of Bankia with the entities ING and Sabadell. As for its entry into force, in some cases this charge is already being applied, while in others it will not start to be charged until next February 1, 2023.

Who is affected by the collection of these new fees?
The collection of these commissions applies to those CaixaBank customers who operate at the ATMs of the entities listed below. Although the rule also affects those former customers of Bankia, since it was absorbed by CaixaBank and all customers started having their bank accounts and money in the latter entity.
At which ATMs do these fees apply?
The new commissions that CaixaBank will apply are with entities with which the the former Bankia has reached an agreement to carry out cash withdrawals without additional costs. In particular, these entities are:
- Eng
- Sabadell Bank
- Red Euro 6000
After the merger between CaixaBank and Bankia, an agreement was reached with the National Commission for Markets and Competition to extend these conditions for a certain period of time. Now that this extension is about to end, customers who wish to withdraw money at any of the ATMs of the aforementioned entities will have to undertake the collection of certain fees.
When do I start charging fees for withdrawing money from a Banco Sabadell ATM?
CaixaBank customers who go to a Banco Sabadell or Euro 6000 ATM to withdraw cash from one of their accounts, will see a transaction fee surcharge applied. It’s a commission that’s already active, given that the deal expired last October, then the fees are already charged.
When do I start charging fees for withdrawing money from an ING ATM?
CaixaBank customers wishing to withdraw money at one of the ING entity’s ATMs distributed throughout Spain will also have to assume a commission supplement. Although this charge has not yet come into force and fees will not apply until after January 31, 2023.
