The protest against the president of Toro, Urbano Cairo, fueled almost daily by the Granata people, yesterday made a further leap in quality. Since the other evening, in fact, a banner has appeared in Piazza San Carlo, the noble heart of the city, which – decisively but without insults – tells in an incontrovertible way the sensation that the people of Granata have been feeling for years now.
“Cairo: Enough!!!” reads the banner, and those three exclamation points are an example of the tiredness of the Toro fans. The banner appears on the top floor of the building on the corner between Via Roma and Via Santa Teresa; thanks to its size it can be read clearly from every corner of the square.
And so, in these hours, the hunt for the refined protester immediately began: who is he? And how much did it cost to prepare the banner? This is the result of the initiative of a private citizen, a great Granata fan who wanted to make his voice heard in this way, trying to gather and involve even more Granata fans around him. Those who perhaps don’t recognize themselves in a shouted protest, but who still can’t stand Urbano Cairo’s twenty-year management anymore.
It is rumored that he is an important entrepreneur from Turin who, however, at least for the moment, prefers to remain in the shadows. And the banner? Made by a specialized company, the cost of production is black and white: three hundred euros, VAT included, for the six meter wide by 1.80 meter high banner that makes a beautiful display in the living room of Turin.
But the second episode is also already ready, the one that will be staged with the March of the Granata people that the fans would like to organize before the next match, Sunday 24 November against Monza.
Meanwhile, the second banner is already ready, and will carry the same message: this time it will be four meters long by one meter high and the cost is only eighty euros. Invoice included, of course.
