The spokesman for the Gaza Strip Crossings and Borders Authority, Hisham Adwan, revealed that Cairo had approved the crossing of a new batch of foreigners and dual nationals through the Rafah crossing into Egypt, on Saturday morning.
Adwan explained to Sky News Arabia that the new batch, which is the fourth, includes 55 Egyptians who were inside the Gaza Strip and will return to their country, along with the foreigners who were decided to leave through the Rafah crossing.
It should be noted that this is the first time that the list of those allowed to leave Gaza includes Egyptians, since it was decided to open the Rafah crossing for the passage of foreigners into Egypt.
The source revealed that the batch of foreigners scheduled to cross on Saturday includes 386 Americans, 112 Britons, 77 Frenchmen, and 151 Germans, in addition to Egyptians.
It is worth noting that the number of foreigners who have crossed from the Gaza Strip into Egypt so far has exceeded a thousand.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Cairo authorities are making efforts to facilitate the evacuation of about 7,000 foreigners from Gaza, who hold the nationalities of 60 countries.
Earlier, the spokesman for the Rafah land crossing on the Palestinian side, Wael Abu Omar, revealed to Sky News Arabia the statistics on the crossing of foreigners and wounded since the crossing was opened for them, which are as follows:
Wednesday: 50 injured, 26 their companions, and 345 foreigners. Thursday: 21 injured, 21 their companions, and 342 foreigners. Friday: 16 injured, 15 of their companions, and 355 foreigners.
