The motivations? According to the papers, the Melis could have occupied only twenty-one square meters and, as of last August 14, they would no longer be able to sell sandwiches and drinks, having already received the stop from the municipal offices. There was also a fine in between, and a series of communications. On April 20, 2004, the first ok at twenty-one square meters and the sale of food products, with the prohibition of supplying food and drinks. An activity that, however, has always been carried out, including hamburger sandwiches, steaks, fries, beers and orange sodas, because the restaurateurs had presented, and won, an appeal to the Tar. A few days ago the ultimatum arrived, after the checks also carried out by the agents of the Local police: the caddozzone must stop any type of activity “for the next 33 days”.
For the owners it is a blow: “Here are the jobs of my sons and my daughter. Every week we divide the earnings and set aside money for the move ordered by the Municipality, they would like to put a field on it twenty meters away “, thunders Giuseppe Melis, owner of the kiosk:” The Municipality says that we are abusive, I have always paid everything , I have all the cards, both for the bar and the outdoor area, as always. The lawyer of the two caddozzoni, Anna Maria Busia, is studying all the possible counter-moves: “I have to check all the papers well to understand how to save them.
