(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, APRIL 26 – Officially no one is exposing themselves, but among the ranks of the Five Star Movement in Sardinia, discontent with Action’s support for the mayoral candidate of Campo Largo Massimo Zedda, expressed by the Progressives, is leaking out. The alliance thus risks splitting after the success in the regional elections with Alessandra Todde, less than two weeks after the presentation of the lists for the municipal elections. In these hours the M5s wants to understand what the next steps will be, especially those of Zedda who, after announcing that he wanted to work for a broader field, welcomed the support of Calenda’s party. But this choice is difficult for the mayoral candidate’s allies, also because in the regional elections Azione had sided with Renato Soru’s Sardinian Coalition, eroding votes right across the board. It is not just the Five Star Movement that is irritated: other centre-left political forces are making their disappointment known at a time when balances are still being sought in the Regional Council, where adjustments in the composition of the permanent commissions are being examined. In short, a puzzle on which the discussion of alliances for municipal elections is based. No one, for now, is speaking out about Action’s support for Zedda, but there are those who are already talking about a “unilateral choice” that risks damaging the coalition. This means that if a shared and synthetic solution is not found, there is the risk that the broad field could begin to lose pieces. It will be above all up to the mayoral candidate to try, in the next few hours, to calm people down and keep all the allies united. (HANDLE).
