CONAKRY- The SOAR academy could seriously regret this poor performance at home. The Guineans, who hosted the Ivorians of AFAD this Friday, September 15 in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Cup, unfortunately lost (1-2) at the General Lansana Conté stadium in Nongo.
In this match, it was the visitors who took the advantage twice after the break with goals scored by Kouadiokan Michel AMANI (0-1, 47th) then Tiemoko COULIBALY (0-2, 58th). Cornered, the SOAR academy will reduce the score through Mohamed CAMARA after the hour mark (1-2, 69th). Despite multiple chances, the Guineans never managed to equalize and ended up losing this first battle in front of their supporters.
With this defeat on home soil, the academicians of SOAR are obliged to seek a positive result (victory) to hope to see their dream of entering the group stage of the CAF Cup for the first time come true. The return match is scheduled for next week in the Ivorian capital.
Remember that the two other Guinean representatives, namely Horoya AC and Hafia FC, are playing respectively against Medeama from Ghana and Wydad Casablanca from Morocco this Sunday, September 17 in the CAF Champions League.
