CAF Cup / Ahli Tripoli- Orlando Pirates: Bakary Gassama finally dismissed?

The Arbitration Commission of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Gambian referee Bakary Gassama to officiate the great explanation between Al Ahli Tripoli and Orlando Pirates in the semi-final second leg of the CAF Cup which will take place on 15 next May.

The announcement of the appointment of the highly contested Bakary Gassama was accompanied by a violent reaction, especially since the said referee is at the heart of a lively controversy after the qualifying play-off match for the World Cup between Algeria and Cameroon .

According to the latest information, the Libyan club have decided to protest to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), following the designation of the Gambian for their crucial match against the South African team in the CAF Cup.

The club from the Libyan capital would oppose this designation. And this because of the “scandal” linked to this referee during the Algeria-Cameroon match.

The Gambian could therefore be dismissed and replaced by another referee.
