They won’t have pedaled, or lifted cast iron, for nothing. Friday 4 and Saturday 5 December 2020, the Calvados firefighters had once again mobilized for the Telethon, at lat the Ifs barracks, near Caen (Calvados). A cause that they have supported for many years.
Caen – Marseille by bike, an A320 lifted
Edouard Lecomte, Donovan Blais, Quentin Bouillet and Paul Taclet had cycled for eight hours on home trainers to virtually cover the 1000 kilometers between Caen and Marseille. Gaëtan Lechevallier, him, had chained the bench presses, lifting a total of 92 tons of cast iron.
These exploits, but above all their flawless investment in research against myopathies, earned them, Saturday February 13, 2021, to receive a “Golden Telethon”, from the hands of Jean-Paul Guinefoleau, the coordinator AFM Telethon from Calvados.
The firefighters have been with the AFM Téléthon from the start and always loyal, imaginative and united despite all the constraints (events, weather conditions …), especially this year!
–The firefighters symbolically handed over the check for a little over 15,000 euros, corresponding to the amount collected during the last edition of the Telethon.
