Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party Desmond Junaidi Mahesa said the statement from his cadre, Kamrussamad, was about engineering a declaration of support for a number of scholars to Sandiaga Uno running in the 2024 presidential election is not a party statement. He said the statement was Kamrussamad’s personal opinion.
“Statement What Samad is doing is a personal statement, not the opinion of the party and not the opinion of the faction,” Desmond said when contacted on Thursday (12/16/2021).
“Not in the context of representing Gerindra and the faction, but he represents himself and he is a Gerindra cadre,” he continued.
Even so, the Deputy Chairman of Commission III considered that there was nothing wrong with Kamrussamad’s statement. He saw that the statement did not harm the party.
“As a cadre, there is nothing wrong with him,” he said.
“For us, it’s normal, it’s just a matter of whether this is detrimental to the party or not. In this case, it has not been seen that the party has been harmed by statement this,” he continued.
Furthermore, he questioned the party that carried the figure of Sandiaga Uno as a presidential candidate. Because, he emphasized that currently his party has promoted the Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in the 2024 election later.
“If indeed Sandi proposed but the question is which party? Because we don’t see today the party supporting Sandi in a concrete sense, because today the party supports Pak Prabowo as president,” he said.
Kamrussamad previously accused a number of scholars from Jakarta and West Java to support Sandiaga as an attempt to engineer Ijtima Ulama and have the potential to divide the community. Kamrussamad is worried Trader deliberately exploiting the identity of the ulama.
The chairman of the Youth Center for the Da’wah Council, Dede Rubai Misbahul Alam, feels that the Ijtima Ulama Forum that supports Sandiaga actually unites the people. He considers Kamrussamad’s statement as a supplement as well as motivation.
“We don’t think it’s an accusation, we just think that it’s a supplement, a motivation for us so that what we did in the Ijtima yesterday becomes something that we take care of and take care of so that it becomes good for the people and the nation,” said Dede.
“(The Ijtima Ulama Forum) is clearly very unifying the people, because there are many scholars present, many Muslim youths are present, across organizations, masyaallah. That becomes one proof that none of us are trying to divide, nauzubillah,” he added.
