Following the annulment of the fishing agreement between Morocco and the European Union due to a biased ruling by the Court of Justice of the European Union, the PSOE of Cádiz, through its general secretary Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, trusts that the Ministry, directed by Luis Planas, will find a solution to overcome this obstacle, which could significantly affect the Cadiz artisanal fleet, particularly towns like Tarifa.
Ruiz Boix has highlighted, in a note from the PSOE, that “the government has always shown support for the primary sector of Cádiz (agriculture, livestock and fishing), and that improvements have been committed to fishing populations such as Conil, Barbate and Tarifa, protecting artisanal fishing.
In this way, it is betting heavily on this week, in which the Third International Congress of Artisanal Fishing is held in Barbate and Conil, with the presence of members of the Government and which will be attended by the Secretary of State. “It is important that we know that he is going to be here to try to resolve those issues that we know affect the province,” he indicated.
The socialist also has hope in the meeting that the mayors of Campo de Gibraltar will hold this Wednesday in Madrid with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, to which the Provincial Council and the Board are also invited, to talk and demonstrate “support for a matter of State such as the negotiation that the Government of Spain has been carrying out so that the delicate situation of Brexit, eight years later, is fruitful for everyone and we reach the agreement on which we have been working for years so that this area of prosperity shared is a reality.”
“We want there to be unity, to have cohesion, so that we have a better economy and better employment data for the more than 300,000 inhabitants that make up the region,” he said.
On the other hand, Ruiz Boix criticizes the management of the mayor of Jerez, from the PP, accusing her of generating economic imbalances and imposing increases in water and garbage bills, failing to fulfill promises to reduce taxes.
“She behaves like an arsonist, generating an increasingly greater imbalance between the income and expenses of this municipality and punishing the working middle class, for whom she foresees increases in water bills, increases in garbage bills. What he promised as a tax cut is totally the opposite,” he charged.
Furthermore, he added that “he has only imposed a discriminatory distribution, as is done in the government of the Provincial Council of Cádiz.”
In the end, Ruiz Boix presents an equal list for the Federal Congress of the PSOE, with 32 components (men and women in equal numbers), representing mayors and general secretaries of municipalities. The list seeks to defend the interests of the 1.3 million inhabitants of Cádiz.
In short, the PSOE of Cádiz supports Pedro Sánchez and undertakes to be part of the drafting of the presentation that will establish new challenges, objectives and rights for Spaniards.
