Cádiz opens its low beach season | Radio Cádiz | Today for Today Matinal Cádiz

The Cádiz City Council, through the Environment and Beaches delegation, activates this Monday, June 1, and until June 15, lto low season of beaches in the city.

During this fortnight, the beach services will be operational between 12:00 and 19:00 every day of the week. Modules 2, 3 and 5 of Victoria Beach, La Caleta, Santa María del Mar and Cortadura will be open. Regarding first aid and medical assistance services, the first aid kits that will be available are those located in the Central modules of Victoria beach, La Caleta, Santa María del Mar and Cortadura.

With the start of this low season, the integrated beach areas of La Caleta and module 3 of Victoria beach will also be operational.

From today, -really since yesterday but the weather was not good-, the lateros can once again sell drinks and food with their carts on the beach. During the past week they demanded speed from the Cádiz city council to inform them of the protocol that would allow them to carry out their activity. 100 families depend on this group who earns the vast majority of his income in summer, around 1,200 euros per month.

The president of the Cadiz street vendors, Santiago Alvarez It has explained that they already know the aforementioned protocol, which they and the clients must follow.

They will first ask the customer if they are going to pay the right amount or will they need change. You will then deposit the drink and turn it, if necessary, on top of the refrigerator, and remove one meter. The customer will advance to the container, take the product and the change and put their money on it, to retire later. After each sale, the lateros will disinfect the fridge.

Within the low season of beaches, the La Caleta beach tourist information office located on Paseo Antonio Burgos and the Victoria tourist information office, in Plaza Ingeniero La Cierva will be open.

Likewise, some 45,000 euros have been invested in the acquisition of 480 lockers for the toilet and changing room modules. It should be remembered that this investment is in addition to that made last year, when more than 174,000 euros were allocated to renovate part of the beach’s infrastructures, such as two rescue towers, medicine cabinets and a supply of new beach access basins wider and stronger.
