Cadiz 2-1 Barcelona Controversy during Cadiz defeat
Clement Lenglet pleaded with the referee to award a penalty for a shirt pull in the box during Barcelona’s 2-1 defeat away to Cadiz on Saturday night, but nothing was given and the match continued.
Cadiz defend Pedro Alcala seemed to be grabbing onto Lenglet‘s shirt in the area, and many Barcelona fans have pointed to the way in which this is similar to the penalty that Real Madrid were awarded in the Clasico when Lenglet grabbed onto Sergio Ramos‘ shirt.
Yet, the referee decided not to blow his whistle and point to the spot, while the VAR team did not see enough in it to alert the official to the incident.
