It is clear that state leaders drive special cars. But some of them are more special. We present to you some shiny cars and… a surprise.
The President of the United States
One of the most important people in the world needs special and safe transportation wherever he goes. His entire motorcade arrives in a Boeing C-17 Globemaster just hours before the visit, while the president himself flies in his famous Air Force One.
The official car is known as “The Beast” or Cadillac One. The glasses are 13 centimeters thick and do not give any bullet a chance. It is full of all kinds of battle protections and weapons, but they are kept secret. Undoubtedly – number 1!
The British Prime Minister
It is driven by a Jaguar XJ Sentinel, which is also armored, but far from the protection of its American counterpart. The exact engine has not been announced, but it is assumed to be a tuned V8 or a bi-turbo diesel V6. The Jaguar has bomb-proof doors, bulletproof glass, and a reinforced floor to survive a mine.
The French president
Yes, the Citroen C6 was driven by Emmanuel Macron and his predecessors. This is the largest and most luxurious version of the famous brand, equipped with a V6 engine at the front. It’s certainly not the most exciting car in the bar categories, but it’s a tradition for the French head of state. The reason is an assassination attempt in which the legendary Charles de Gaulle survived while riding in a Citroen DS. This is a sign – French presidents will ride only in the French car.
The Spanish Royal Family
Spain has an auto industry, albeit under the umbrella of WV. But the Royal Family trusts the Rolls-Royce Phantom IV, owning two examples from 1952. The absolute top! Both are painted black and have undergone restoration work, making them some of the best of this model in the world. And there are two for a simple reason – one ceiling is rigid and the other foldable.
The Chinese Prime Minister
He trusts the local pride Honji L5 unlike most of the eastern leaders who bet on Mercedes and BMW. This is the most polished car of the Chinese manufacturer. The car resembles a Rolls-Royce, but it has its own unique moments. Red elements reminiscent of the Chinese flag can be seen everywhere. This Honji offers two engines – a 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 or a 6-liter V12.
The Japanese Emperor
Toyota Century is the most luxurious car produced by any Japanese concern and one of the best in the world market in general. The previous model was the only Japanese one with a 12-cylinder engine. The current Toyota Century was introduced in 2018 with a 5-liter V8 engine upgraded to a hybrid that drives only the rear wheels. The Japanese Emperor, of course, has a special version developed to his specifications, which include a removable soft top.
The Pope
He is betting on the Mercedes-Benz ML-Class “Papomobil”. The head of the Catholic Church has several more cars, all of which are painted white and have a transparent bulletproof platform at the back. However, the current Pope uses the G-Class, which has an open roof, so he can be closer to the people.
The president of Uruguay
Yes, no joke, it tops our ranking with the Volkswagen Beetle. We are talking specifically about Jose Mujica, who led the South American country in the period 2010-2015. He is known as the “poorest president in the world”, although this is not exactly the case. He just gives all his money to people and drives around in this little German cutie. Mujica receives an offer to sell the legendary WV Beetle. He put it up for auction, with the Beetle fetching $1 million. With the money from the “soap box”, the president bought 10 off-road trucks and gave them to Uruguay.
