In keeping with the recent announcement by the Central Bank of Cuba (BCC), CADECA has informed this Friday that dollars will soon be able to be deposited in its offices.
“What customers had requested so much has arrived: cash deposit in USD at the CADECA offices, for the moment available at the 23 and J branch in the capital,” they communicated through their official channels.
In this sense, they reported that the service begins in all the network of offices in the country, starting next Monday, April 17.
“If you want to credit cash in USD, present yourself with your identification document and your own card at MLC”, added.
Just a few days ago, the Central Bank of Cuba announced that financial and banking institutions would accept cash deposits of US dollars in bank accounts.
Equally, needed that the acceptance of this currency will be maintained, as up to now, in the operations of purchase and sale of currencies in the Foreign Exchange Market.
The financial authority on the island explained that “when making a deposit of US dollars in cash in an account that is denominated in the same currency (USD), no exchange operation is carried out.”
“If you are going to deposit 100 USD in cash, they will credit your account with 100 USD”, they also responded about a question about deposits on MLC cards.
CADECA WILL ACCEPT DOLLARS DEPOSITS IN CUBA
After CADECA’s announcement, Cubans will have the possibility of recharging their MLC cards from the offices of the network of exchange houses, without having to limit themselves only to Cuban banks.
Given the concerns of several clients, the Central Bank of Cuba has come out to clarify that “the MLC is not a currency, it is a denomination to identify the currencies that are accepted by Cuban banks, it means Freely Convertible Currency.”
In this way, the accounts in MLC are really opened in US dollars (USD), “therefore, the value that is deposited in USD is the one that is recognized as the balance of the account”, manifested.
This Friday, CADECA buys the USD at a rate of 110.4000, while its sale is at 123.60000.
