Within the framework of the commemoration of International Women’s Day, CACTIUSA De RL, held a meeting of cooperative women for the third consecutive year. This year the topic of the Conversation was “Challenges and Opportunities for Women in Their Environment”, in which women leaders gave their testimony of how they were able to overcome the challenges that were presented to them due to being a woman.
Also, there was the support of a psychologist who gave useful advice to the attendees to be able to overcome adversity and make the most of the opportunities that arise.
In this activity, there was also the participation of more than 100 women associates of CACTIUSA De RL and sister cooperatives.
According to the Salvadoran Institute for Cooperative Development INSAFOCOOP, El Salvador has 632,533 members of cooperatives; Of that amount, 52% are women, which demonstrates the interest in belonging to an organization that will help run the economy in homes, companies and other sectors.
CACTIUSA De RL, through this commemoration seeks to empower Salvadoran women, an example of this is the COOPEMUJER Savings Account exclusively for women The purpose of which is to create the habit of saving and therefore generate interest.
With the development of this Conversation, CACTIUSA continues to be faithful to the Fifth Cooperative Principle: “Education, Training and Information.”
