With a free kick goal by Reinaldo Aparicio in the 10th minute and another header by Anderson Andrade in the 90+4, the Cacahuatique juniors beat Fuerte San Francisco 2-0 this afternoon at the Chapeltique Sports Complex to achieve their fourth consecutive victory and rise to first place in the Apertura 2024 by adding 12 points in total.
The lead could have been greater for the coffee growers, but William Torres’ saves, the crossbar and a play ruled offside prevented more goals in a match interrupted by fouls from both teams.
El Fuerte, which has collected four points from a possible 18 under the technical direction of Mexican Jorge Martínez and which finished with ten players at the end of the game due to the expulsion of Giuviny Esquivel, only had one dangerous chance at the opposing goal. It occurred in the 70th minute with a long-range shot by Argentine Luis Acuña that provoked a save by Óscar Sánchez.
The team led by Argentine coach Daniel Corti has only known defeat since its debut in the First Division (1-3) against national champion Alianza. In the next match, Cacahuatique will visit the Jorge Suárez Landaverde stadium to face Isidro Metapán. Fuerte San Francisco will play again until next weekend against Firpo in Usulután.
