Cabrera and Hocquard at the forefront

Organized by the association Tout Cattenom court, the eponymous Trail race and nature was disputed this Sunday in the forest and on road parts with many reminders over two distances of 10 km (positive elevation of 180 meters) and 17 km (220 m). On these routes, the participants crossed the Gaigenberg structure of the Maginot line. They have also taken its many steps to climb with great strides.

This event brought together some 350 participants from all races (children’s walk and race) and there were 277 at the joint start of the two main races. From the start, a handful of runners took the lead. Over the shortest distance, Olivier Cabrera went it alone and increased his lead two kilometers from the finish to take the lead ahead of Mathieu Mellinger (31”) and Pierre-Olivier Leroy (37”). Audrey Franchini, 17e in the scratch, won the women’s event.

Finally, over the longest distance, the race broke up four kilometers from the goal, at the foot of a descent, with an acceleration of the two triathletes from Thionville/Yutz. Vivien Hocquard finally overtook François Pezzolla when Rachel Depenweiller took the lead in the women’s category.
