The telecom company Free reported several incidents with the fiber optic network at 4 am last night. The Ministry of Economy said it had been informed of cut cables as the cause of the problems.
SFR network affected
According to French media, the network operated by the French telecom provider SFR has been affected. Cables around Paris and southern Lyon were found to be damaged.
At Free alone, 100,000 customers would have been duped. There were disruptions in Strasbourg and Grenoble, among others.
