The cabinet is committed to aligning the validity of our corona admission ticket with the European Digital Corona Certificate. It has already been decided that its validity will be reduced from 1 February to nine months after the last original vaccination series.
“That is why it is so important to get your booster: to be protected again, but you will also need it for the corona admission ticket and to be able to travel,” explains a VWS spokesperson.
There is not yet a validity period for the vaccination certificate after a booster shot. That is also not possible, because it is not yet clear how long this jab will protect us against any new variants of the coronavirus.
Change rules needed
In order to bring the validity of vaccination certificates back in line with Europe, an amendment to the existing rules is necessary. This amendment will be sent to the House of Representatives shortly.
Some countries already require or announce a booster shot for entry. The Netherlands considers it desirable that the state of affairs with corona tickets is equivalent throughout Europe.
It is currently still possible to obtain a corona admission ticket in our country for an unlimited period by means of a valid vaccination certificate, a recovery certificate or a very recent test certificate.
