The cabinet will announce additional corona measures on Tuesday, it is clear. In addition to the catering industry, where at least opening hours are further limited, the sale of alcohol in the evenings may also be restricted, sources from The Hague report.
The measure should prevent people from drinking together elsewhere, if pubs are obliged to close earlier. A ban on the sale of alcoholic drinks after 8 p.m. is being considered, but that also depends on what exactly happens with the catering industry. In some regions evening drinks sales have already been restricted.

Less contact moments
The new corona rules must ensure that people travel less and meet less with others. Prime Minister Rutte had already said last Friday that the goal is mainly to let people meet each other less. If there are fewer contacts, the chance of the corona virus spreading is also less.
One of the new measures is a further disincentive to travel by public transport. People should only make necessary journeys by train, metro, tram and bus. In addition, amateur matches in contact sports between adults may also be temporarily banned as a team.

The Hague sources are careful, because all kinds of consultations are still taking place on Tuesday. Later in the evening, at 7 p.m., Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister Hugo de Jonge of Public Health will announce the new corona measures. It has not yet been hit and everything can change, the sources say.
