The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has confirmed the provision of holiday allowances (THR) and the 13th salary for State Civil Apparatus (ASN), TNI, Polri, retirees and state officials.
“On April 13, 2022, I have signed a government regulation regarding the provision of THR and the 13th salary for all ASN, TNI, Polri, regional ASN, retirees, pension recipients, and state officials, as well as an additional 50 percent performance allowance for ASN, TNI, and an active Polri that has a performance allowance. This policy is a form of appreciation for the contribution of central and regional officials in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, and is expected to increase people’s purchasing power and help accelerate national economic recovery,” he said.
Further provisions regarding the technical provision of THR and the 13th salary, continued the President, will be regulated by the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) for budgets sourced from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) and Regional Head Regulations (Perkada) for budgets sourced from in the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).
Regarding the government’s policy of allowing going home, the President said that this year’s homecoming flow is expected to be very large. According to reports received by the President, in Java alone, it is estimated that around 23 million private cars and 17 million motorcycles will travel back and forth. Therefore, the public is asked to remain vigilant against the transmission of COVID-19.
“The community can again celebrate the holiday with their family and relatives in their hometown. However, we must remain vigilant, lest the homecoming trip actually triggers the emergence of a new wave of COVID-19 transmission, “he stressed.
The government, emphasized the President, always puts the safety of the public as the main priority, both safety during the homecoming trip and the safety of our health.
“The government, all of us, of course really want the homecoming trip to be smooth and full of joy. Once again, don’t let there be an uncontrolled spike in cases after we celebrate the holiday,” he said.
Furthermore, the Head of State said that the government would carry out strict and detailed arrangements for homecoming travel.
“Ministers and all levels of government are working hard to prepare these regulations, next week we will convey them to the entire community,” he said. (SLN/FID/UN)
