Cabinet is headed for relaxation of measures on 1 June

It appears that the announced relaxation of some stringent corona measures may continue on June 1. There are currently no compelling reasons to refrain from the limited opening of the catering industry, theaters, cinemas and museums. There is also no obstacle to the reopening of secondary schools, sources say the NOS.

The cabinet will take the final decision in a ministerial crisis meeting next Tuesday. In any case, Prime Minister Rutte will provide an explanation afterwards.

Until now Rutte has made a clear reservation; if the number of infections increases too much, the planned relaxation will be canceled. “The virus must remain manageable,” said the prime minister. For example, it should not be too busy on the street and healthcare must be able to handle it.

A week and a half ago, the cabinet came up with a timetable for easing for the coming months. Primary schools reopened on 11 May and public transport must return to normal on 1 June, with an obligation to wear face masks. The intention is also to open restaurants and cinemas, with a maximum of thirty people.
