Cabinet further relaxes: mouth masks obligation, tests for access and home work advice disappear Inland

This will be announced by corona minister Kuipers on Tuesday afternoon. Last week it already leaked that the cabinet wants to say goodbye to the latest corona measures. On Monday, a few comments from the medical experts of the OMT were added. They would like to keep the mouth cap in public transport.

That is of course also allowed, emphasizes Kuipers: “You are not doing anything wrong if you decide to still use it.” But an obligation, like the other corona restrictions, is no longer necessary, according to him. Even though there is a high number of infections, the cabinet had expected that. “And the pressure on healthcare is not too bad. Hospitals can handle it well.” Due to international agreements, the mouth cap remains mandatory on the plane.

The cabinet is also scrapping the advice to partly work from home and preventive testing in education twice a week. The OMT would also like to see the cabinet ‘continuously encourage working from home’. But, says Kuipers: “That is no longer necessary in the context of managing the pandemic.”

What remains are a number of basic measures, such as regular hand washing and testing in case of complaints. The urgent advice also remains to go into isolation in the event of a positive test result.
