The Cabinet expressed its disappointment at the action of Agriculture Department Secretary B Ashok who criticized the bill to remove the Governor from the Chancellorship. Dissatisfaction will be reported to Chief Secretary Ashok.
The Cabinet today approved a bill to remove the governor as university president. The bill will be presented in the first days of the legislative session, which begins on December 5. The Chancellor is the Governor in all except the University of Law. A Rector has prepared a total of five university bills of a similar nature as each university requires separate amendments.
