The cabinet will support entrepreneurs extra due to the tightened corona measures. A total of almost 2.2 billion euros is being earmarked for this. For example, the NOW scheme (Emergency Bridging Employment) will return. The allowance for fixed costs will also be expanded.
Anyone who has at least 20 percent loss of turnover as a result of the measures can claim NOW. The support – NOW 5 – applies for the months of November and December and also for the current period of restrictions.
The aim of this measure is that entrepreneurs, such as restaurant owners, can continue to pay and retain staff. The salaries of employees with a flexible contract also fall under the support package.
85 percent reimbursed
As under the previous scheme, NOW 4, 85 percent of the salary will be reimbursed. This will take place in September 2021. It is the intention that employers will be able to submit the application next month. Anyone who has just started as an entrepreneur and started at the latest on September 30 this year can request an advance. NOW support is worth 1.5 billion euros.
The fixed expenses allowance will be increased to 100 percent this quarter. Entrepreneurs can claim this if they have at least a 30 percent loss of turnover. The maximum amounts that entrepreneurs can ask are respectively EUR 550,000 for SMEs and EUR 600,000 for other companies.

Money will also be made available for the cultural sector, 68 million euros. That is a continuation of previous support.
