The last rehearsals of the cabaret show are underway. The basis of the concert performance is life itself, life. This is already the 20th anniversary year since the team has been creating cabaret.
Producer and director Viktors Runtulis tells about the future production: “Just like in life – from beginning to end. In the literal sense. As the classic said – we have to get closer and closer, because there is nowhere left to go. There will be episodes like that. But also sunny ones, because yet Christmas time, New Year is approaching, holidays again. Weddings again, funerals again, births again. Life!”
“It’s wonderful, in my opinion, this year on the occasion of the anniversary, we’ve been celebrating for 20 years, that a playlist has been selected, which hits absolutely all the rooms,” actor Intars Rešetins reveals about what is to come. “We will talk a lot about essential topics that have accumulated themselves. They are very deep, personal, that’s why ‘La Vida’, that’s why life.”
This year, too, the team includes both artists who are participating in the performance for the first time, as well as those who have worked for a long time. Choreographer Elina Gaitjukeviča was also a cabaret dancer before. She points out: “The most important thing is to show a lot of different emotions that night through movement, through dance. Also this year, the show has a lot of different choreography. Both cabaret-style dances in the classical sense, but also very sensitive, emotional, contemporary dances. As if the genre is quite classic, which is what everyone in the audience expects, but at the same time, here we can experiment and afford a lot. That’s what I think appeals to me.”
Musician Miķelis Putniņš reveals that this is already his fourth cabaret season: “Every year I feel more and more a complete homecoming and a family feeling. This is a huge team working on this, we have many dancers, we have many actors, we have choreographers, we have musicians. It’s a great pleasure to be part of this family and to work with these people who do it at a really high level and with the highest sense of responsibility and at the same time with joy. Cabaret is home!”
The performance season of “Cabaret La Vida” in the “Palladium” concert hall begins on December 13 and will continue until January.
