Cabanillas celebrates one of its patron saint festivities this weekend, a few days in which more than 30 activities will be held for all tastes and ages. The events will begin with a parade of supporters clubs (which runs in the opposite direction to that which takes place in summer, from the Plaza del Pueblo to the Fair. After the parade, several supporters clubs will read a proclamation.
Musical performances
Among the musical performances to highlight these days, it is worth noting the
start of the festivities with “King Africa”, who will perform on Friday the 5th in the afternoon, closing the parade and proclamation of peñas. That same night there will be a festival with the Voltage Orchestra, and the evening will close with a mobile disco. On Saturday the 6th, two concerts have been scheduled at vermouth time: A tribute to “Queen”, with the group “Queen Regodead”; and a flamenco-pop performance with “Entreduendes”. At night one of the highlights of the Fiestas will arrive, with the formidable orchestra-show “La Misión”, which opens a new show in Cabanillas, a town where it is a regular, and where it has a large number of followers. After the festival there will be a mobile disco again. And for Sunday the 7th, the musical performances scheduled are, at noon, the fantastic group from Alcarreño of national pop rock versions “Estudio 80”, and then the group “Caramelo”. All these performances will take place at the Fairgrounds, where a tent will also be set up this year, to guarantee the proper development of all events, regardless of weather conditions.
In addition to these performances and concerts at the Fair, there are also other musical proposals designed essentially for the elderly, such as a copla show on Friday the 5th, with María Gracia; or dance, on Saturday the 6th, with “Juan Luis, the orchestra man”, both at the Casa de la Cultura.
As for children’s activities, inflatable parks have been scheduled from Friday to Sunday in the Municipal Fronton, and there will also be other alternatives, such as a fun science workshop on Friday the 5th, a giant scalextric on Saturday the 6th, and a children’s show on recycling on Sunday the 7th. For adolescents and young people there is also an “Escape Room” activity scheduled for Saturday morning.
The presence of the brass bands, parades with a music band, the traditional masses and processions of these festivities, the Giants and Big-headed troupe, or the essential distribution of traditional sweets organized by the La Campiña Women’s Association, will not be lacking in these celebrations of Christ of the Expiration.
To enjoy these activities in Cabanillas there will be a local holiday on Friday the 5th.
