The leaders of the European continent, Lyonnaises in the lead, will work to transform the test Wednesday into the round of 16 second leg of the Women’s Champions League, the suspense focusing on the duel between the Austrians of St. Pölten and the Swedes of FC Rosengård.

The Lyonnaises, five-time reigning European champions, already have a foot in the quarter-finals and they owe it in part to the young international Melvine Malard, off the bench in the first leg for the 2-0 goal scored in time additional. The OL players therefore leave for Denmark without much thrill before facing Brøndby on Wednesday (13:55).

The Germans of Wolfsburg, finalists of the last Champions League, also have a lead of two goals before going to the Norwegians of LSK Kvinner.

Beaten 2-0 also, the players of Atlético Madrid still have a slim hope of overthrowing Chelsea and its star Pernille Harder. The Kazakhes of BIIK Kazygurt have none, however, after suffering the law of Bayern Munich (6-1) from the French international Viviane Asseyi, scorer for her return after more than three months of absence.

FC Barcelona have nothing to fear either from the Danes of Fortuna Hjørring, whom they drastically beat 4-0 in Catalonia in the first leg.

To find suspense, you have to go to Austria on Wednesday evening (8:30 pm) with the reception of the Swedes FC Rosengård by St. Pölten, the only team to survive qualifying. In the lead with a two-goal lead just after half-time, the Austrians were caught 2-2 in the first leg after extra time.
