ByteDance may not have to sell TikTok after all – IT Pro – News

Well I think part of the concept of vine came off, short (read: easily digestible) movies with (often) a “comedic” undertone, people thought hey that works well, what if we also had an option to put music underneath to add? Then musica.ly was born, the fortnite-age youth really liked it for some reason, and so that quickly became popular. Musica.ly then became TikTok and now we are here.

How did this get this far? I have no idea, the biggest “celebrities” on the platform are mainly children 15-18 years old who dance in front of the camera, which has made this so popular with slightly younger children (<15 years old) I don't know, I am very curious about the case studies that will be written about it in about 10 years.
