Norway it has become the gateway for Chinese brands that want to enter the European electric car market. In addition to Xpeng and NIO, too WORLD chose this country to debut its Tang battery-powered SUV. BYD, in fact, has already been active for some time in Europe but as a manufacturer of electric buses and commercial vehicles. Now, the automaker has announced that it has officially started deliveries of its car.
A small event was held yesterday in which BYD and Scandinavian auto distributor RSA delivered the Tang SUV to the first customer. Car that is part of the first batch of 100 units shipped early June. The goal is to bring to this country 1,500 Tang electric SUVs before the end of the year. For the Chinese company, a new phase of growth is now beginning in the Old Continent market.

Indeed, the arrival of this car in Norway is part of a larger expansion plan. The Chinese company intends to further expand into the European market at a very favorable time when there is a growing demand for battery-powered vehicles. However, it will be interesting to follow the sales trend to understand if BYD will be able to carve out a space given that there is certainly no shortage of competitors.

7 SEATER ELECTRIC SUV
Let’s briefly recall the main features of the electric SUV that BYD will bring to Europe. It has 7 seats and offers four-wheel drive (double electric motor with a total of 360 kW) and a 86.4 kWh battery pack which allows autonomy up to 400 km according to the WLTP cycle. In direct current, the accumulator is able to recharge up to a maximum power of 110 kW. The performance is very good since 4.6 seconds are enough in 0 to 100 km / h.
In Norway, this model starts at 599,900 crowns or just under 58,000 euros.
