Dutch be the first quarter-finalist World Cup 2022. This was after De Oranje batted United States of America 3-1.
In their Round of 16 match at Khalifa International Stadium on Saturday (3/12/2022) WIB night, the Netherlands won 2-0 in the first half against Memphis Depay and Daley Blind.
The United States narrowed the score through Haji Wright, before Denzel Dumfries’ goal secured victory for the Netherlands. Louis van Gaal’s team awaits the winner of the party Argentina versus Australia.
The course of the match Netherlands versus United States
The United States stunned the Netherlands in the third minute when Christian Pulisic escaped the offside trap. Alone in front of the goalkeeper, Pulisic’s close-range shot was blocked by Andries Noppert’s leg.
The Netherlands had a hard time escaping pressure from the United States in the opening minutes, before becoming the first team to score in this game. It was Memphis Depay who put his name on the scoreboard in the tenth minute.
The Dutch built up a quick attack which was started by Cody Gakpo with a pass to the right side which was occupied by Denzel Dumfries. It was easy for Dumfries to deliver a yanked pass that was met by Memphis’ right footed shot.

The Dutch felt more comfortable playing after that Memphis goal and handed the ball over to the United States. They also nearly scored a goal on the break in the 21st minute.
Virgil van Dijk’s long ball found Memphis down the right, who then drove into the box and fired at the far post, but went wide.
The USA is trying to find opportunities to get it in the 42nd minute. Tim Weah carried the ball into the box from an attack down the right, but Noppert kept the shot wide.
The Netherlands doubled the score in added time thanks to Daley Blind. Blind calmly found Dumfries’ cut ball from the right.

The score of 2-0 closes the first half.
Despite the two goals won, the Netherlands gave two attacking players the lead, Tun Koopmeiners and Steven Bergwijn.
The USA were first to create a halftime chance after Weston McKennie’s header forced Noppert to clear. The ground ball was hit by Tim Ream which was again tackled by Noppert.
A minute later Holland nearly scored if the ball that hit Walker Zimmerman wasn’t cleared quickly by Matt Turner.
In the 61st minute, Turner had to fly to hold off a Memphis header.
Turner made back-to-back saves in the 72nd minute when he intercepted a long-range strike from Koopmeiners. Then, Turner quickly blocked the ground ball that was hit by Memphis.
The USA used the opportunity to qualify after narrowing the score in the 76th minute. A cross from the right met Haji Wright at the near post and he was still able to clear the ball, despite him being heavily protected by Van Dijk.
The ball bounced off the far post without being able to be cleared by Noppert and Dumfries.

A minute earlier AS were cornered when Dumfries managed to block Wright’s shot into an empty net following a Memphis error.
Dumfries! After making two assists, the Inter defender also marked his name in the 81st minute.
Unmarked on the right, Dumfries stepped up to meet Blind’s left-footed cross to find Turner to make it 3-1. Dutch keep that edge until the end of the fight and the right to qualify for the last eight.
