Law enforcement and public security forces are keeping applications open for new applicants to the Chilean Carabineros Training School for this year 2024, which has experienced an increase in young people who want to be part of this institution.
It is important to highlight the increase in applicants that Carabineros has had in recent years, taking into account that so far in 2024 there has been an increase in young people joining the ranks of this important institution.
As reported by Leonardo Sáez, manager(s) of the Applications Office in Rancagua, they are open for those who wish to enter the Chilean Carabineros Training School, for this year 2024, for which young people between the ages of 18 and 18 can apply. 30 years, for both men and women.
“In 2023, there were a total of 192 applicants, of which 105 men and 87 women, who will be selected depending on the dates they apply,” said Sáez.
Among the admission requirements that applicants must take into account, they must be of Chilean nationality, ages between 18 and 30 years (men and women), marital status, single, fourth year completed and passed, physical health compatible with the career and height in men over 1.60 meters and women 1.50 meters.
The person in charge of the Applications Office also mentioned that the professional career offered by the Carabineros Training School allows young people to achieve levels of specialization and comprehensive development.
Among the specializations and projections offered to applicants are: Mountain and Border Specialist, Police Intelligence, Drugs and Narcotics OS7, Criminology or Criminalistics, SIAT Traffic Accident Investigator, Air Material Maintenance, Special Police Operations (GOPE ), Instructor, Canine Education mention, Mounted Police and Radio mechanic, Nurse and Livestock Farrier.
He added that, once the applicant is selected, they are assigned an entry date, so that after preparing them for the day of entry, they subsequently join an induction period, where they are instructed in the military part.
Likewise, Sáez explained that the young people “go through a basic period of collective instruction, with or without weapons, and after that, they begin their training period for Carabineros in the education part.”
Some benefits that the new generation of Carabineros will receive are job and economic stability, specialization and improvement programs, a remuneration system in accordance with seniority and specialty, health care for the carabinero or carabinera and their family, recreation plans and recreation, home ownership plans, as well as pensions, eviction and retirement, among many other benefits.
Leonardo Sáez said that those interested can go to the headquarters of the Cachapoal Prefecture, located at 525 Bueras Street, corner of O’Carrol.
