During the past week of Russia many photos and videos have appeared on social networks, which show that on some Moscow mobile air defense systems “Pancir” installed on building roofs. Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian president, refused to comment on this news.

However, according to ISW, some Russian military bloggers have reacted favorably to these images. They expressed their satisfaction that the people of Moscow will finally understand that “a serious war is going on”.

The Kremlin may have put Pancir on rooftops in Moscow just to publish these “provocative” images, experts say. Thus, the Kremlin is trying to show Russians the danger posed to them by the war in Ukraine.

It is unlikely that the Kremlin believes the threat of the Ukrainian army to Moscow, most likely it is a show to prepare the information space inside Russia for a long war and further casualties, according to ISW.
