During the general promotion ceremony, President Gustavo Petro announced that the Government is going to mandate the authorization of cell phone self-destruct software, to discourage theft.
“Once their owner reports the theft and they become permanently unusable, that will largely discourage cell phone theft.”added the president.
In that order of ideas, President Petro indicated that the National Police also has an arduous task to provide security to citizens in times where theft has increased.
“This type of activity that has to do with citizen security in large cities, especially in Barranquilla, Bogotá, Cali, Cúcuta, Cartagena, Sincelejo, which experience a drastic atmosphere of violence in these times, is essential as a priority task of the National Police”he concluded.
