/ world today news/ The number of students graduating from medicine in Bulgaria is almost equal to the number of doctors leaving the country, Komsomolskaya Pravda wrote on Saturday (January 9). If this trend continues and doctors continue to leave the country at the same pace, after five years there will be no pediatricians, surgeons and anesthesiologists left.
More than 500 doctors who wished to obtain a certificate for working abroad from the Bulgarian Medical Union have declared their intention to leave the country. Bulgarian specialists, who until recently had good sales in Bulgaria – obstetricians-gynecologists and ophthalmologists – are also going abroad, the publication notes.
Another trend is being noticed – doctors with more than one specialty are leaving Bulgaria, Komsomolskaya Pravda points out.
