BWT France, a specialist in water treatment, and the Chimie ParisTech – PSL school have signed a two-year contract to develop biosourced and biodegradable solutions for water treatment and the protection of installations against deposits and bacteria. The partners will be accompanied by Alexandra Sauvêtre, doctor in chemistry and in charge of carrying out the experiments necessary for the realization of this project. They also envisage a publication and, if necessary, a technology transfer by the joint filing of a patent. They hope to market a first formulation by the end of 2022. Currently, existing treatments come from the chemical industry and present risks for humans and the environment. The active ingredients must be part of a sustainability approach. Their origin, availability and proximity will be taken into account throughout the life cycle. All this without neglecting the final cost, which must be acceptable, nor regulatory and safety standards.
